Article

Cricket is a game which is developed in 19th and 20th century in England. International matches have been played since 1844 and now it has become world’s 2nd biggest game after football. It is Pakistan’s most played and watched game and people of Pakistan are very passionate for this game and you can find fans of cricket of every age group in every city and village of Pakistan.
People of Hyderabad are also very passionate about this game and majority of people are crazy about this game. People of every age group are fans of this game in hyderabad whether they are children, students, Businessman, Officers, Labour or belongs to any category.
Gully cricket is the initial stage where every player starts playing cricket and Gully cricket is mostly played in hyderabad on weekly holidays i.e Friday or Sunday. Gully cricket mostly played in Ramzan nights in hyderabad and People of different areas arrange tournaments in their areas and townfolks play cricket till Sehri. Different areas challenge the other areas and fix the match and enjoy this game.
There is too much talent of playing cricket in people of hyderabad but they are unable to go to higher level of this game because of lack of academies in this city. Only few players from hyderabad have represented Pakistan's national cricket team at international level. Sharjeel khan and Muhammad hussnain are the players who are currently representing Pakistan cricket team at international level. But more players deserve to represent Pakistan team but they are unable because of least opportunities in the city. There is only one stadium i.e Niaz Stadium in the city which is also not in good condition and is ignored by Pcb from many years. So it is very hard to play cricket at higher level in the city which is the biggest loss of the talented players of the city and the Pakistan.
Niaz stadium in hyderabad has a historical values, the first ever hat-trick in One Day International took by Pakistan's Jalal-ud-Din at this stadium. The legend of Pakistan Javed miandad scored 280 not out runs at this ground which is his career best score, and now this ground has ignored completely by Pcb. Niaz stadium hosted its last one day on 24 Jan 2008 and after that it has been unable to host any international match.
When big events of crickets came like Worldcups, Pakistan Super league (Psl), the fever of cricket in people hyderabad is very high. Everyone is talking about these tournaments and matches and arrange big screens on roads and in their areas for big matches like India vs Pakistan to enjoy the cricket.
Some schools like county cambridge school, beacon house etc also arrange matches and cricket tournaments for the students of their school and students of these school from primary level to secondary level take part in these tournaments. School and colleges arrange tournaments for many games of sport but most of the students take part in cricket because fan following of cricket is much more than any other sport in Hyderabad.
So we can say that people of hyderabad love playing and watching cricket but this city is unable to get the chances they deserve. Pcb should pay attention to this city and the players from this city by working on the stadiums and by building some academies here in the city. So that young boys and girls get chances to show their talent in the game and take the name of their city to higher levels just like other players from biggest city making their own name and making their city proud.
