The Girl Who Stood Up For Herself
Aqsa Khan
2k18/MC/29
There are many people who stood up and worked for themselves but there is less of an inspiring story. And in my life the most inspiring story which I heard was of Shahnaz Alvi.
Growing up I heard many stories about her, some good and some stories with extra spices but I wanted to know myself what it was all about and to go into the depth and find out the real story; I got a hold of her in a family party and out of curiosity I asked her that how did she manage to get here in her life. She laughed at me so hard that I felt conscious of myself & I wonder, did I ask something wrong? And her answer made me realize that how cruel human can be. She said" thank God you didn't taunt me about my jobs which usually people do". Adding further she apologized and said” I am not used to people, asking me these type of question so when you asked me about me about it I felt awkward & laugh it off as you were joking. But if you really want to know then “At first it was not easy, I was living a life worse than an animal & to change time made myself keep moving", I got confused and asked her to explain what did she mean by that and what she told me, was so terrible that I couldn't breathe for a second that how a family of 5 people lived in a apartment of 1 room in which they cooked and had a bathroom. Nowadays we all want different rooms for our own. And how the world started to get congest for them when the landlord said to take money from her for suicide. She shared how her mother worked hard for her and the other children. Doing two jobs at a time was not easy. Running a canteen in her school where she used to study and going out and working in other people houses were the only two things kept them on life.
She explained how after Matriculation she gave tuitions to 15 to 16 children and started helping her mother. When I asked her that what the turning point of her life was, she said “when I had to do two jobs one from 6pm to 5am and second from 7am to 1pm that change my life", she told me how people taunted that “doing a night job what type of girl she is?” and “how is she getting this much money suddenly” but she never gave up because her mother trusted her with her life. Going further she told me that how her cousin asked her to apply in office jobs as it would give more money and how she managed to go to Dubai.
Her struggle didn't end there; she had to live on floor without any house on the very first day of Dubai. And worked for the company for 2 an half month without getting paid for it, how she had to do a case for passport and penalty money and never got her salary. Later on living there for a month and continuing to find a job to work and earn for her siblings to educate them and give them a life which she could not even think of for herself.

Her story makes me see world from a total different perspective. This gives me motivation that it’s never too late to stand up and live for ourselves, for our dreams, for our parents because people will speak but they will not feel and that’s the difference. I just wish that there can be more Shahnaz Alvi. So that we can set our role models from a real life hero and just not from any fictions.

Gates are always a way to enter any palace and Sukkur in no less than a kingdom and this kingdom has 66-Gates to explore named as Sukkur-Barrage,  (barrage and city are two different things, these gates are not for Sukkur city, if so Hyderbad has Kotri baragge with gates)
although on other hand Hyderabad is famous because of its culture and commercial heritage. The kingdom ? is known as the 3rd largest city of our province Sindh and the commercial city is the 2nd largest of Sindh. As I have visited both the cities, Sukkur Barrage in Sukkur caught my eyes the roads were all clean and the night view was a worth watching side. It was a once in a life time sight, the night view was so peaceful that one could watch it for his whole life.
And if we talk about the historical places Hyderabad’s Pakka Qila and Kacha Qila are from the year of 1768’s one can just get the historic feel by just visiting it from the outside. Both the places give good example of fortification
The passing heritage and culture collection of ruling period are being kept in the Sindh Museum Hyderabad. It showcases the culture of Sindh and civilization, the artifacts and paint shows the talent and history of Hyderabad.
And on the other hand the Sukkur Barrage museum showcases the material which was used in the construction as stone, cemetery and many other things. The highlight is the sample of Sukkur Barrage the machinery which was used in the construction is also displaced outside the museum.
If we go through the beliefs Hyderabad has a land mark named as Moula Ali Qadam Gaha. As it is the only dargha dedicated to the son-in-law of prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and because of this, people with different beliefs would come and visit it. The interior has a lot of mirror and in heritage this places comes in the 11 heritage places of Hyderabad.
Even Sukkur has the land mark minar, The Minar of Masoom Shah Bakhri, this minar has 84 steps with the height of 12 inches each step. It is the highest spot for one to see Sukkur as a whole and even one can see the miner from a distance because of its height.
If we talk about the climate conditions Sukkur doesn’t have a check and balance rule if it is hot than it is hot on another level and if it is cold, it will break the records but in this Hyderabad do have some leniency and some balance.
The Mandir Sadhu Belo is a legendry place as people go there for Teerath Asathan, it is sitatued in the middle of Sukkur Island and this temple has 8 other temples, garden area and dinning for the people who are staying there.
When Hyderabad is famous for bangles, rabri and Sindhi embroidery; Sukkur is famous because of import and export, growth of dates.
And there are many other places to write about but these mentioned are the one which catches the eyes visitor as it did with mine. We all should try to protect the culture and history by keeping the historical places safe and it’s on government to take care of the property of past and keep it alive for the upcoming generations to know about their heritage and rich culture.

Aqsa Khan- BS 29 English Article

Seems ok
Threat’s Of Population Growth.
Social values and unawareness are root cause
Aqsa Khan
2k18/MC/29
Is there dire need to control the population?
Is over population a threat to our country?
Overpopulation is one of the main drawbacks of Pakistan. We all are aware from the threats of increased population in Pakistan, but the question arises that how the laws for it can be executed and how can we change the mind-set of people? Pakistan’s growth rate currently was predict to be 120 million in 1947 but it is 220 million now, which is a big warning for the future of Pakistan. According to US census bureau, Pakistan is on 5th populous country with growing population of 212.7 million.
There are many reasons behind the rapid growth in population, but the reason behind it is that people don’t know the problems which can be caused because of growing population; they are unaware of the surroundings and issues related to the country.
The common reason of it is lack of awareness and education, as people are poor and they can’t have education. So, either they don’t have education or they are not aware of the problems of overpopulation.
Many citizens of Pakistan think that, if they have more family members, they can earn more and support each other financially and emotionally.
With speedy technological advancement in the science and fertility treatment those who can’t have child go for this treatment and because of the side-effects and effective medicines, they are able to conceive rapidly and it leads to rise in the over population.
Many of the people in Pakistan are not educated, so they don’t have knowledge about anything related to family planning or they get their children married in a very young age because of backward mind-set, so automatically the birth ratio increases.
In Pakistan, as a Muslim country, it is a strong belief to expand one’s family from a religious point of view; they think that it is in Islam to increase one’s family. From a recent report a man from Quetta had 50+ children from 3 wives and was further planning to enlarge his family.
The rich countries continue to take advantage of resources at very reasonable rates and on the other hand we are in mess, the water is only 1% fresh as the growing population is making it impossible for fresh water to stand and many other resources are unavailable for sustainable life, it is also causing problem to the local land as the artificial system for food growth is dangerous.
The chances of infections and diseases spreading are more because of increased population people are living at a very near distance and have a chance to get infected instantly.
The population is also a reason in climate change as the large amount of people cause large dirt and execration in the surrounding, 97% of scientific community says that humans are responsible for changes in climate.
To stop the rapid increase in growth, and control the population; it is important to educated people from a young age about family planning, over population and why is it important to control the growth.
It is on Government and private organization to form policies, and start awareness campaign to educate and discuss why it is important to control over population.
The birth control-methods and pills should be in every area, both men and women over there should be educated about the ways to control the births and usage of it.
Adoption should be one of the ways to control the population and help the needy as the couples who can’t have child, should adopt one except going for the expensive medical treatment. It will help with the child and the overpopulation, as the child would have a home and parenting figure to look after him.
