Everyone dreams but only few chase after them, when passion is real the hard work pays off.                    Dr Habibullah Pathan is one of them; at an early age he set an example for those who pursue their dream.
Dr Habibullah Pathan born in 1981 belongs to Hyderabad, Sindh. His family migrated to Hyderabad from Jacobabad. He is from a middle class family his father, Asadullah Pathan was a hardworking man and  was passionate about changing his family’s life  and for that he provided his children with the gift of better education so that they can bring change in their lives and do something good for the society, every father do this for their children and dream about it but this dream can be a guiding line and motivation for children as well,  Dr Habibullah as the elder son lives his father’s dream and continued his struggle for his cause. He got his early education from Model School Hyderabad, he was a very active student and involved in extra curriculum activities. He was a member of the debating society and scouting. From a very young age, he had passion of learning and was titled as a bright student, though studied from a Government institution his dedication makes him stand out from the crowd.
He got his B.S degree in Literature from University of Sindh and passed his Masters in ELT and PHD in SLM Second Language Motivation from University of Glasgow, Scotland which was funded by Higher Education Commission. While studying there, he dreamt of meeting the big name in language and to work under him who we know as the living legend in the Linguistics field, Prof. Noam Chomsky.
Finally in 2016, Dr Pathan did his Post doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Noam Chomsky at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT.
Dr Pathan has worked on education administration, Planning and Policy. He completed his Hubert H. Humphrey fellowship at University of Boston, U.S. For his contribution in  the field of education he received certificates from the State Department signed by the former President Obama and Senate John Kerry, which is a great honor for a Pakistani to achieve this milestone. Further he works on language motivation and presented his research paper on L2 motivation at International Conferences at the Harvard University there he won a hackathon at Harvard in 2016.
After returning to Pakistan he invested his leanings and time in ELDC, he is the pioneer of the M.Phil and PHD program in English Language at the University of Mehran with recognition of HEC. He is the head of studies at Mehran University and further serving as the Director at ELDC, and also been elected as the President of the Mehran University Teachers Association, because of  his  hard work  and with efforts of his team in 2020 ELDC MUET has introduced for  the very first time  undergraduate program in BS English.
He authored a book named “Indus Identity: Myth or Reality: a study of textbooks in Pakistan” and it was published on 21st December 2015.  The Daily Times declared him as one of the leading linguists of the country.
He has more than 40 research papers published in National and International research journals. He’s currently working on another book which might get published this year. It’s a memoir “My Days with Noam Chomsky”.
He has accomplished many achievements at a very young age because of his unwavering hard work and never ending devotion.

Dr Pathan has recognition in his field and is invited as a keynote speaker all over Pakistan, he’s truly a pride.  He is a motivation for young graduates who have high dreams and possess the courage to pursue them.
