Hakeem Ali Nawaz, who wants to be a herbalist rather a doctor

Herbalism was introduced in the world many years ago. Herbalism is the study of botanical medicines and the use of medicinal plants to treat different types of disease and this practice is still used in modern world.

 Nowadays we often find old age herbalists rather young age herbalists, youngsters or students always dream about being a doctor rather a herbalist, however there is still a soul, who wants to be a herbalist in this advanced world.Ali Nawaz is one of the inspirational personalities of herbalism, who is sedulous, confident and focused to achieving goals tremendously.

He was born in December 1996 Tando Gulam Ali, but later on, he shifted to Kotri in 2003 with his family. He passed intermediate as a pre medical student in 2016 at Degree Government boys college kotri, Although he wanted to be a doctor, but he now chooses herbalism, because he was unable to get admission in medical university as he is not financially strong enough to pay medical university fees, but he did not let himself be miserable in future life forever, so he did not give up and he took admission in private B.A in 2017 at Degree Government Boys College at Kotri. After private B.A, he has taken admission in 4 years BMS in LUMHs university at Jamshoro and this 4 years BMS degree would be benefit to his chosen field.

 Apart from being a herbalist, he has other interests such as urdu poetry, reading urdu novels, teaching and formulating cosmetic. He is currently experimenting cosmetic formulations, because he wants to organise his own skin care products, however the skin care line is not organised yet.”I have noticed many people, who are concerned about their cosmetic issues, such as acne, pigmentation and uneven skin tone and these concerns are further degenerated due to using fragranced based products from market, since fragrance can trigger many skin issues, hence It makes me develop skin care line, which is mainly free from fragrance and artificial colouring. I will inshallah launch my own skin care line soon.” Ali Nawaz said in the interview.

 He is not a self employed, because he has just started herbalism, so he is not allowed to open his own clinic, therefore he has been working in clinic named Ghouri Dawakhana at Latifabad Hyderabad. He works as a dispenser in a botanical dispensary. His work is to make and provide prescribed herbal medicine to patients, apart from he also guides patients how to take medicines and this practical work serves major role in his field.

Ali Nawaz had a dream to treat poor patients free from cost in his childhood and he has still same aim. “I was obsessed with doctors so much and wanted to be a doctor, but my parents can not afford the fees of medical college, as my father is only a private worker, so I choose herbalism, which can also narrowly serve same purpose as a doctor. It would be great to be a herbalist along with the science based medical knowledge, and this medical knowledge can make me further a successful herbalist.” Said Ali Nawaz in a confident tone. He studies about botanical herbs through books or internet to explore information as much as he can. He practises taking blood pressure, taking fever and testing sugar of neighbours in his street free from cost,” This practice gives me two things, one I can master my essentials in this field, second I am helpful for my neighbours in needy time one or an other way.” Said Ali Nawaz. People who live in his street, really admire his profession and enthusiasm towards being a herbalist.

“I am sure that my interest and struggle towards herbalism make me a successful herbalist and offer me to serve humanity” he said.

“It does not mean, if you are rejected, it is dead end, who knows that way might not be chosen for you. Keep your head up and always give a try,” he further said by leaving a hope to those, who have lost their hope.
